After news made the rounds a few weeks ago that our number one bad girl (not to be confused with African bad girl, Tiwa Savage) was officially releasing her own clothing line, under her own fashion house, in collaboration with LVMH, we’ve been itching to see what the “work” singer had spent almost two years creating.
Taking magic to the city of love and fashion, Rihanna launched her first collection under the Fenty line, in Paris. Looking super chic in an oversized blazer which still somehow acentuated her waist, the new collection is heavily inspired by Ri’s eclectic style.
This isn’t the Grammy winners first time at the rodeo, having worked on collections for Puma (who can forget the popular creepers back in 2016), and her lingerie line, Savage Fenty. However, this is Rihanna’s first foray into the world of luxury fashion, with pieces going for as much as $1,000 (approximately, N360,000). The label also makes history, as it becomes the first luxury brand created and run by a woman of color, in LVMH’s history.
Outside the white blazer Rihanna was spotted in, the collection also features a pair of sexy pointed sandals (my fave, at the moment), a denim two piece, an off the shoulder dress-shirt situation i’m also obsessed with, statement making shield like sunglasses, jewelry, among other pieces.
She has conquered beauty, athleisure, lingerie, and now she’s set to conquer luxury fashion, going head to head with the likes of Celine and Prada. At this point, I feel she’ll gladly release a furniture line or car collection, just to escape giving us new music. Just a reminder sis, we still need our album!
The collection officially goes on sale on May 29 on the label’s website, Fenty.com.
