Afropunk Brooklyn 2017; Unbiased, African and more


Afropunk which may be described as the African Coachella and which according to their website is “defining culture by the collective creative actions of the individual and the group” held three days ago with all the usual color, pomp and african spirit that usually surrounds it.

And this year it came alive with a more unified and unapologetically unbiased tone of celebrating African heritage with the tags ‘No Ageism’, ‘No Transphobia’, ‘No sexism’, ‘No homophobia’, ‘No Racism’, ‘No Hatefulness’, ‘No Fat-phobia’ and ‘No Ableism’.

Though the Atlanta version still comes up in October, the Brooklyn version was completely absorbing. Here are some of the best street style and hair from the festival:
