Can We Talk About The Amazing Costume Style Of These Dancers?

Writing is a wonderful hobby for me. One that comes almost flawlessly. Dancing, on the other hand, is a passion. Something I always love to do, but had to work hard to learn how to do it. I remember days when my sister and cousins would teach me how to creep walk and do the harlem shake. But, I digress.

One of the major shows that made me love dancing so much is “So You Think You Can Dance”.

*sigh*….back to the matter…..

I was watching the newest episode and I saw some costumes that blew me away. It’s no surprise that the show has won Emmy Awards for Outstanding Costume and other categories. The costumes these guys use are off the chain.

Kida and Fik-Shun in these colourful suits, ties and glasses were perfection. I had to re-watch the dance because the first time, I was hooked on their costumes.

I am going to focus on this season’s costumes because one post does not do justice to all the wonderful costumes I have seen on this show.

This ripped jeans with matching sweaters gave me life. I loved the personal touch they added by putting their names on the sleeves of the sweater. This routine was pretty amazing and it didn’t take long before I was dancing along with them on OT Genasis’ “Cut It”.

One word, Frillssssss!!!! Ruby is an awesome dancer, and her partner, all-star, Paul, makes her look effortless at it. This green frilly number was a sight to behold as she sashayed around the stage.

Meanwhile Paul is giving us some D’banj goals with his low cut V-neck.

Jordan did an African Jazz routine with her partner for the week, Ruby, and they looked all shades of amazing. The beads and the design…oh and did you know there are shoulder pads on this costume? Peep the human hair on their shoulders.

Jake looked all shades of dapper in his little waistcoat and tie and he slayed while doing this ballroom number.

Can you tell that Kida is one of my best dancers this season? The little man is talented for days. If you ever saw a video on Instagram with 3 kids dancing, he was one of them.

One of the reasons why I love hiphop dance is that you get to show off your kicks! Look at these awesome shoes from Vlado Footwear. Now I want one for myself!

See ehn…these girls are like gazelles! To think that the oldest competitor is 13 years old…my life! The right costumes helps bring out the beauty in the dance routine, and these costumes did just that. They did not need wings to fly!

Little J.T stole the hearts of everyone with this routine he did with his all-star partner, Robert. I am sure the tie and dye costume helped with the robbery.

I could go on and on about dance, the show and their costumes, but y’all will tire of me. I would love to hear your views on dancers, their costumes and whether you think it can be upgraded on modified.

Here’s a clip with one of the loudest costumes this season. I had to squint to watch it.

Enjoy.
