Personally, I think the most difficult aspect of fashion has to be the endless options you have at your disposal. There are so many amazing pieces, so many statement making accessories, clothes and shoes. You ending up wanting practically everything.
But you can’t. Mainly because, the economy isn’t smiling and I can’t seem to remember the sound of my bank account’s laughter. Also there’s the not so minor fact of your wardrobe already spilling with things you’ve acquired in the past.
Not being able to
afford buy them hasn’t stopped me from wanting a lot of things though and this Currently Loving column I’m starting is aimed at highlighting some amazing items I come across while internet window shopping, working as an Assitant Editor here at Stylevitae or maybe just plain faffing on Instagram.
Perhaps, in doing so, one of my dearest readers/followers would be so kind in making a baby girl’s wish come true.
Here are fashion pieces I’m currently loving and wanting at the moment.
Truth be told, I’ve never really paid attention to the Gbemisoke shoe line owned by media personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi. I’ve always thought that court shoes where boring unless it came in outrageous heel length or was a Christian Louboutin.
When Gbemisoke introduced the mules, I fell in love. I love mules and the Gbemisoke mules look so comfortable. It also helps that it comes in a camel toned brown which is one of my fave footwear color.
The A M A dress by Tubo
Tubo’s La Premiere collection appealed to all my senses in ways only few collections have done. I loved every single piece that was presented and I wrote the review for it here. One piece got to me more than any other and that is the A M A dress.
It has that ability of giving the wearer instant Hollywood glamour. Paired with a fascinator and bold red matte lipstick, there would be no limit to the heads one would turn in it.
Topshop Stripe Tie Front Skirt by Boutique
I’m a sucker for unique pieces. I first saw this skirt on Karrueche Tran. I loved immediately and instantly thought of several ways I could pair mine.
It’s currently out of stock but I’m hoping it will be restocked and in the case that it isn’t, a nice fabric, pair of scissors and Owgee’s sewing machine will do the trick.
MAC Feels So Grand Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick
Despite loving the amazingness that is the MAC Ruby Woo, I slightly detested the application. Perhaps I’m the only one that went through this but it was kind of hard to get a perfect application.
The reviews I’ve heard about the Retro Matte in Feel So Grand makes me feel like it will give a much easier method of application. I want it and I want it now!
Dolce & Gabbana Camera Case Leather Shoulder Bag
I first saw this on Abisola Kola Daisi’s Instagram and loved it. I love how funky and yet extremely sophisticated and glamorous the clutch is.
probably obviously way more than my budget but a girl can wish right?
