My Easter holiday was bliss. It was fun-filled with friends and family and two consecutive weddings! It all started here.
Let me give you an insight on my long weekend.
As expected the road trip was fun, because it was the first time of going to the east, for a couple of people in the bus and the rest of us were left with the task of showing them different states, the famous River Niger bridge, talking about the states and tribes and stopping to get petrol and food.
Having friends with you during a road trip is equal to no sleep! Like not even a little with all the chattering, gisting and laughter, even the grumpy ones among us couldn’t help it (you know yourself).
It was my sister’s wedding the next day( Easter Sunday, 27th), so we decided to give her a little surprise for her a day before her traditional wedding, and well we also wanted our first time visitors to enjoy the whole trip because they were leaving the next day immediately after the wedding. We went into Owerri town to pick more of our friends which started feeling like a big party was about to go down. Then we went off to Concorde Hotel to swim and show off our hot bod. It was Mad!
Next, we visited the newly opened Shoprite at the Owerri Mall to get more booze and cups for our pre-wedding turn-up. By the time we got back home, we were so exhausted from all the fun that we just ate and slept almost immediately.
D-day! We were all excited but Frieda couldn’t keep her excitement on the down low. All of a sudden, makeup products were flying over heads, beads shared to the asoebi girls, In-laws and visitors trooping in, food getting served and what not.
In the mist of the craze I got to see my sister, oh man she looked so beautiful, that it made me cry a bit until I was chased out. Everything happened in a flash she was traditionally blessed and married!
My goodness, It just hit me right now, Frieda would not be around so much or at all.
Moving on, Easter Monday the 28th, it was an Abiriba matter, Noble Igwe got married to his beau, Chioma Otisi. I had to set out of my house very early with my other sister who was also attending to meet up with my colleagues whom I missed, at Igbere, Abia state.
I was happy to see them, and more excited for the newly wedded. We fixed our makeup and got dressed, then we set out to the wedding venue. In summary we all had mad fun, with Noble and his goons strutting out in their Igbo attires and Chioma with her asoebi girls dancing.
In summary the marriage was lit, but the after party AHH! it was like the best club I have ever been to. Ask Vanessa and Nikki!
