It’s that time of the year again and I’m so excited. No, the Fashion Week cycle doesn’t start for another month but London Collections: Men is on now and feeling my undying love for menswear.
Before I begin let me tell you a little bit about London Collections: Men. It is a biannual showcase that takes place every January and June and celebrates the creative, innovative and commercial importance of British Menswear. It takes place over a period of four Days and this year it was from the 9th -12th of January and to make it even better Tinie Tempah is the Ambassador for London Collections: Men!

There are runway shows and presentations which give emerging menswear designers to showcase their collections. Looking at this year’s shows and presentations, a few things really stood out for me –
Masked Men
AGI & SAM and their The Coolman Collection which was inspired by the playfulness and creativity of childhood and they interpereted that literally with masks made from Lego on the runway at LCM.

The New Flat Top
The classic flat top with its short back and sides was freshened up with a touch of white at the MAN show.

Statement Jewellery
I love and adore jewellery and as a stylist I adore putting jewellery on men. Grace Wales Bonner showcased her collection of Crown Jewels at the LFW Fashion East presentation during LCM.

90s Power Comeback
Astrid Andersen is an amazing urbanwear designer and has always been at the forefront of creating and setting urban wear trends. For AW15 he has gone for a more bulky oversize silhouette taking inspirations from the 90s power silhouette with berets also making a fashion comeback. And spotted here first, the  Nike Air Max 90 Sneaker boot!

High Drama Tailoring
Alexander Mcqueen’s Creative Director Sarah Burton for  went for a Regency style look with dark floral prints, pinstripes, velvet accents, and  embroidery and sent the models down the runway with super slicked hair.

Colourful Knitwear
Kit Neale went for a colourful and youthful look for his collection taking inspiration from the circus, with bright knitwear and playful tailoring. For the trendsetters out there these colourful knits are perfect for Harmattan. Sibling went for a super bright pink, on everything!

70s Comeback
Topman went back to the race car and music festival scene from the 70’s with shearling coats, fringing, sporty jackets, fur and bold check and pinstripe suits. Denim was the fabric of the moment in high wasted bell bottoms but they are more slim fit and the length is much shorter for 2015.
