Moofa’s A/W 18 Collection is Seasoned Culture Meeting Urban-Chic Hood

Nigerian Women’s wear design brand Moofa, just released their Autumn Winter Collection and it’s the most genius conjoining of culture and urban style. The collection is dubbed ‘Senior Geh ti fun won tan’ which literally translates to ‘Senior girl has given them finish’ (well, according to my limited Yoruba translation skills), and  is informal Yoruba Lingo for the Stylish girl killing it, from the released campaign/lookbook images I see no lies.

The collection which played heavily with a mix-match of the local Damask fabric, showed the beauty of a bold mixture of opposites. Cut in eclectic urban styles, the collection sells an idea of what the culturally aware woman would look like when she’s finally made it.

The candid set, make up (peep the little tribal Marks), the shock of pink lipstick and eccentric styling/accessories hinted at the extravagant nature of the local girl and contributed to selling the Senior Geh image successfully
