After breaking the internet last year with her Milf video that had all the Hollywood Milfs from Kim kardashian to Chrissy Teigen and Gemma Ward, Fergie just released two videos on her Vevo channel on Youtube and though they are not a pop culture fan’s dream they are very stylish and fashionable videos.
Enchante was inspired by Carine Roitfield so it most definitely had to be fashionable. In the video which features kendall Jenner, we see color and sparkle a lot, it is afterall a Carine inspired tale. It follows the enchanted life of a super stylish, confident, beautiful and sexy woman whom you can’t help falling for, for whatever reason. Styled by Carine herself, and directed by Bruno Ilogti with hair and makeup by Akkish Shirakawa and Isamaya French, the video does exactly that, enchants. There was this partcular yellow number that looks a lot like one of Versace’s ss 18 designs, and had me wishing I was that girl in the video, so it totally worked.
As good as Enchante was, I personally feel that it doesn’t even come close to how good ‘A little work’ is, perhaps because of how deep the song is and how connected the lyrics of the song make you feel. But it could also be due to the video itself which is actually a short film and sorta gives me the Beyonce Lemonade album video vibe.
All the outfits, from the first lady of the night sequined dress and fur coat, to the psyche ward lady (crazy never looked better), to a young fergie in the blue ruffled stunner or the yellow home maker outfit, to the glittery dress that lighted up and her son’s print jacket outfit, this video is goals If I were to ever think of creating a short fashion film.
Not only does it properly interpret every role the outfits were meant to portray, it leaves you with a certainty that yes, you just watched something deep and meaningful which is very important in a world where the majority of music videos usually portray nothing in particular.
