Recently presented as one of the Women Of Vision by Tiffany Amber in conjunction with Diamond Bank’s Diamond Woman initiative , Omoyemi Akerele makes another high powered list and for good reason. Business of Fashion has named her one of “six in-demand emissaries in global fashion” alongside Monica Mendes, Miroslava Duma, Melvin Chua, Susan Sabet and Bandana Tewari.
Omoyemi Akerele is the founder and artistic director of Style House Files, a creative development agency, through which she launched Lagos Fashion and Design Week, and has been instrumental in putting Nigerian designers on several international platforms like the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience, the LVMH Young Designer Prize, the BFC, AltaRoma and Pitti Immagine and
“The strongest misconception about Nigeria is that it’s a homogenous market where in fact it’s a country with 36 different states, all with varying cultures, references, dialects and possibly style preferences. Thumbs up to Omoyemi Akerele as she keeps receiving international acclamation for all her work and accomplishments. I look forward to another edition of Lagos Fashion and Design Week.
