Our woman crush Wednesday is the ever beautiful Yagazie Emezi a documentary photographer, cartoonist and a vlogger who has a passion for life, adventure and nature.
She grew up in Aba, Abia State and currently holds dual degrees in Cultural Anthropology and African Studies from the University of New Mexico. After graduation, she returned to Nigeria as a Visual Curator for Bialere, a digital platform focused on showcasing young African creatives.
Yagazie has been featured for her beautiful works by top site and magazines including Huffington Post, Essence Magazine, MTV, NY Magazine’s The Cut, Models.com and the list goes on.
Today she has been put on the world map as a young woman who continues to document life happenings around the world. She has an ongoing project which is called Relearning Bodies based in West Africa where she documents how trauma survivors left with significant scarring adapt to their new bodies.
Currently Yagazie is based in Monrovia working on a project around education for girls in at-risk communities in Liberia. With deep admiration and love, we continue to show support of women who set out to do great thing in the world.
